In the weeks leading up to the National Carbon Farming Conference & Expo we’ll give you a preview of some of the talented people that make up our speakers!
Cara Stitzlein has a background in Cognitive Engineering, and is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the CSIRO. On day 1 of the National Carbon Farming Conference & Expo, she’ll introduce us to the ‘Look-see’.
LOOC-C stands for Landscape Opportunity and Options for Carbon abatement – Calculator. It is a software tool that can quickly assess the greenhouse gas (GHG) abatement options for a specific land area, including estimates of abatement quantities in Australian Carbon Credit Units, or ACCUs.
Cara tells us, “By supporting an assessment of specific paddocks or farm areas, LOOC-C helps landowners discover and evaluate their options for participating in the Emission Reduction Fund. Other relevant streams of research – including carbon market design and whole farm GHG-accounting will be highlighted.”
Imagine knowing exactly which areas on your farm could profit and benefit most from applying Carbon Farming Methods!
Come along to the National Carbon Farming Conference & Expo and get involved!
